The 9-section rod measures 10-1/2" when collapsed. It is sturdy and flexible enough to handle small trout and sunfish, yet sensitive enough to catch small micro species too.
The rod has a small round metal ball at the tip, rather than a lillian. You can tie your fishing rig directly behind the small ball.
